There are just a few days left until 2014. We all know that, but while some still struggle to find the right outfit for New Year’s Eve, some have sit down to draw the line and see what this year has brought to them. Even if she is now 90 years old, she is still the principal shareholder in the largest cosmetics company L’Oreal. Her father founded L’Oreal and being his only daughter, she inherited stocks after his death. She has a fortune of $30 billion, of which 6 billion made last year, and that makes her also the wealthiest female in all European countries and in France. A little example to understand the power this woman has: just some months ago she sold her island Paradise in Seychelles for around $60 million. This gave her profits of $42 million.

 2. Christy Walton â€" $28.2 Billion

Her source of wealth is from mining, as she is the daughter of late Lang Hancock who was a mining tycoon and whose business she inherited. Her fortune of $17 billion makes her #35 in the list of most powerful women in the world.
