Worldâs most expensive desserts
It doesnât matter if you like dark, white or milk chocolate, Iâm sure that you found yourself at least once entering a shop just to buy a box of chocolates. Call me crazy, but I love to treat myself from time to time with an expensive box of fine chocolates while I watch a movie. I also think itâs a great present to offer. I guess thatâs why some people are trying their best to make the most delicious and luxurious desserts there are. Letâs discover some of the worldâs most expensive desserts.
This is thought to be the most expensive cake in the world and was designed by Chef D.K (Dimuthu Kumarasinghe), Group Skills Development Chef for Aitken Spence Hotels and Heritance Hotels & Resorts. It has the shape of a pirateâs ship and has ten layers with flavors like coconut meringue, cinnamon, zucchini, pumpkin and pistachio. As that was not enough, the cake is adorned with the rarest stones from the Sapphire family and draped with beautiful jewellery, including necklaces, rings and brooches.
Strawberries Arnaudâs â" $1.4 million
These mouth-watering ice-cream strawberries with citrus and red wine are well known, but Arnaudâs restaurant in New Orleans French Quarter goes far beyond and offers the strawberries with a unique diamond ring once belonging to the British financier Sir Ernest Cassel. Also, they are accompanied by a rare port from a $24,850 Kingâs Charles X crystal cave liqueur set.
Platinum Cake - $130,000
Japanese Chef Nobue Ikara teamed up with a jeweler that helped him drape his cake with platinum chains, necklaces, pins, pendants and edible foils. Â The cake was dedicated to famous Japanese women such as actress Rinko Kikuchi and leading model Chie Kumasawa. It sounds delicious and fancy too.
The royal cake â" $78,000
The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton included an eight-tiered wedding cake covered in cream and white icing, decorated with approximately 900 delicate sugar-paste flowers. And donât think that was an easy task because it took more than five weeks to make it.
Frozen Haute Chocolate â" $25,000
Serendipity 3 and luxury jeweler Euphoria New York created a unique dessert from a blend of  28 types of cocoa, 14 of which are the most expensive and exotic in the world. The froze hot chocolate mix is served in a baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet with an 18K gold and white diamond bracelet attached. Also, the dessert itself is infused with 5 grams of edible gold.
