Have you ever wondered which is the most expensive lamp in the world ?
Lamps are a must have in your home. Besides the fact that they are needed so make us see better, assuming itâs late and you donât want to sleep yet but you donât want to disturb other members of the family that are, a lamp also can be used as a decorating piece. Did I mention the fact that the light of a lamp is the second romantic thing, after the light of a candle ? Lamps come in different shapes and sizes, so youâll just have to choose one thatâs on your taste and also suits with your room design. Personally, I love huge, multi-colored lamps. We donât spend so much money on lamps, unlike others, who would do anything to have some of the most expensive lamps in the world. Well, one man was crazy enough to spend $2.8 on the worldâs most expensive lamp. Letâs find out more about that!
Pink Lotus lamp is considered to be the most expensive lamp in the world. And for good reason. This unique piece of art costs $2.8 million.
Pink Lotus lamp was created by Tiffany Studios (known at first ast the Tiffany Glass Company) in 1906 and was sold at Christieâs Auction in December 12, 1997. So, if you wanted to purchase it, youâre too late. But it would have been a nice image to sit and read under the light of Pink Lotus. The lamp features 2.000 hand-crafted glass pieces. They all are wrapped using a copper foil technique. The lamp, which is made of bronze, also features 12 lights and 8 Fravile Glass globes. It has a 28 inches diameter and 34.75 inches height.
In 1900s, the price for a Tiffanyâs lamp was between #30 and $750. Later, Tiffany Studios created some lamps that worth millions, such as a Magnolia lamp, which cost $1.76 million and Peacock which cost $1.87 million. Still, none was so expensive as the Pink Lotus lamp. So, it remains worldâs most expensive lamp ever sold.
