Ever heard of the most amazing underwater sculpture museum? If not you’ll be really amazed to see how beautiful this thing can be. And if you ever go to Cancun, Mexico you must visit this ecological garden, but I must say, this is not an ordinary museum, but I can assure you will love it.
The sculptures are made by Jason deCaires Taylor, an internationally acclaimed echo-sculptor and his main reason for his work is to amaze his audience. He started in 2009 with the help of Jaime Gonzalez Cano of The nationwide Marine reserve, Roberto Diaz of The Cancun Nautical.
Jason DeCaires Taylor was father of these sculptures for the prime purpose of the garden to be ecological. Because of the nearly 300,000 tourists each year who come to explore the white sands and turquoise Caribbean ocean, they are causing damage to marine life.
The idea of the ecological garden/museum was simple, to eventually pattern artificial corals from the sculptures that will support a variety of marine life. Now more than four hundred sculptures are in this Most Amazing Underwater Sculpture Museum, each one of them has its own significance.
What is really amazing about his sculptures is the fact that they change over time with the effect of their environment. These factors create a living aspect to the works, which would be impossible to reproduce artificially.
In the future, if their plan works we may have a developed biological growth who may redefine the underwater landscape evolving within the narrative of nature.

The repository will illustrate the interaction between art and natural environment science. It will display how art can form a convoluted reef structure for marine life to colonize and augment on their own powers.
Over the past few decades, we have lost over 40% of our natural coral reefs. Scientists predict a permanent demise of 80% by 2050. Jason de Caires Taylor’s art is an example of generative human intervention in the ecosystem, showing what can be accomplished by individual imagination and collective effort.
