Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (Catherine Elizabeth”, Kate Middleton | Class and Royalty) grew up in Chapel Row, a village near Newbury, Berkshire, England. She met Price William in Scotland at the University of St Andrews, in 2001. On 16 November 2010 they announced their engagement and she attended many high-profile royal events before 29 April 2011 when they got married at Westminster Abbey.

With a major impact upon British fashion her influence has been named the ”Kate Middleton effect” and in 2012 Kate was selected as one of The 100 Most Influential People in the World by Time Magazine.

According to Newsweek, “The Kate Effect may be worth £1 billion to the UK fashion industry,” while Tony DiMasso, L.K.Bennett’s US president, stated in 2012, “…when she does wear something, it always seems to go on a waiting list”.

Due her fashion choices and the fact that she is a public person, Kate has influenced many people including the charitable causes. Her wedding dress was put on display at Buckingham Palace in the summer of 2011 and the display helped to raise approximately £8million for the Royal Collection, as well as the charitable fund of the Duke and Duchess and had a record number of visitors.

After the announcement of the couple’s engagement in November 2010 “The Kate Middleton Effect” begun.  You now wonder, what’s “The Kate Middleton Effect”? They say that Duchess of Cambridge spent an estimated $54,000 on clothes in the first half of 2012.

Let’s take a moment to remember some of her best wardrobe choices.
