Weâve done the fish tank, the fishing lure but we never talked about the actual fish- the most expensive fish in the world.
But is still time to do that. Thatâs why we are here today.
We are going to talk about the most expensive fish to eat, not to pet, in the world.
I know there are some fish lovers, sushi lovers, right?
Well, luckily for us this fish was a tuna. A 222-killogram bluefin tune to be more specific.
Where they find such a big fish? In Tokyo, Japan was the home for the most expensive tuna in the world according to World Record Academy.
It did cost a lot, just like it size, the price was big- 1.8 million dollars. Sold at the Annual New Year Auction in Japan, the big fish made a new record for the most expensive fish in the world.
For $8.000 per kilo for this tuna the fish was eight times more expensive than silver.
That is something, right? Imagine how much sushi you can eat from that tuna.
The winner of the big fish was the chef Kiyoshi Kimura who admitted the price was a bit high in the end but he did it with the hope for future good tuna in Japan.
Of course he wasnât going to eat it alone, no?
He was planning on giving the fish at the Sushi Zanmai restaurant where he works to their customers on Saturday evening for about $24 bucks for a piece.
Did you know? The Japanese consume up to 80% of the worldâs declining tuna stock!
The tuna was caught off ?ma, Aomori on the northern tip of Japanâs main island Honshu.
This fish broke the previous record set a year before (2011) for a 342-kilogram fish.
Iâd say you should go and try the tuna, but I guess they have finished already because it was caught two years ago.
